Arrival and Car Parking

Arrivals for the Campsite is via Entrance 2. We have a large yard in front of reception where you can swing round with your caravan, motorhome or car and park up in front of the office while you check in, or alternatively you can go straight to your pitch when arriving after 1.30pm. Guests may park one car on their pitch next to their caravan or tent, we have a small grass car park near reception or a larger gravelled car park located at Entrance 1 for additional cars at no extra cost.

Roadways within the Secret Garden are limited to 5mph, the single track gravel roadway is used for entry and exit so be aware of oncoming traffic, there is plenty of space on most of the site to pull over on each side to pass.

Assistance Dogs

The Secret Garden is extremely dog friendly, all we ask is that dogs are kept on a lead at all times around site. We have a small paddock on the Garden side of the campsite where you can let them off for a run. Refuse bins are provided for dog waste which MUST be picked up and deposited in the provided bins, one is situated at the paddock and the other is over on Fen Park near the play field. Unfortunately we don’t allow pet dogs in the Pod but we do allow assistance dogs.

Park Amenities

Each side of our campsite has a shower and toilet block with toilets, showers, kitchen and laundry.

Access to both amenities blocks is over level grass or smooth gravel roadway, Fen Park has ramps to the entrances at each end of the block and the garden / meadow block has a ramp from the garden side leading up to the meadow side entrance and 3 steps with hand rails at each end of the block.

In both amenities blocks there is a wheelchair accessible combined WC and Shower with grab rails provided.

The shower has level access and there is a fold down seat. The wash basin has a lever tap. The bathroom doors are wide enough for wheelchair access with sufficient internal space and an anti-slip floor.

The bathroom is marked as Disabled but please be aware it can be used by any guest during busy periods.

The main toilet blocks are unisex and are equipped with hand dryers in each cubical and a hair dryer in the

communal area.

The kitchen area has laundry facilities of 1 washing machine and 1 dryer. The laundry machines are coin operated and situated on the floor under the counter tops. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge freezer and two sinks for washing up, unfortunately the sinks are not at an accessible height but are fitted with lever taps for ease of use. The kitchen area is not suitable for cooking in.

Pitches and Grounds

Our 27 electric and 12 non-electric pitches are shared by touring caravans, motorhomes and tents. All pitches are on level ground with parking for one car on the pitch. The pitches are large, most with hedges and shrubs between each pitch.

Please be aware that all of our pitches are for both caravans and tents, especially the electric ones. At times during wet weather pea gravel has had to be put on some electric pitches to aid in drainage and prevent vehicles from getting stuck. With this in mind please bring extra groundsheets for your tents or awnings.

We have 1 pitch on the Meadow that has direct access from the rear of the pitch to the ramp leading up to the amenities block and a further 2 pitches in the Garden area also have direct access to the ramp, this shower block also has access at the front and back via 3 steps with hand rails.

Fen Park has 2 pitches right next door to the amenities block with a further 2 directly behind with access to the ramps that lead up to the block. However both our amenities blocks are quite central to most of the electric pitches.

Telephones

Mobile telephone coverage is generally good, but networks vary. Please ask at reception if you need assistance or if you need to use the office phone in the event of an emergency.

Doctors, Dentists & Hospitals

Numbers for local services are available in both amenities blocks on the notice boards and at reception.

Public Transport and Taxis

The nearest bus stop is 0.2 miles from the Secret Garden, about a 5 minute walk. Please note this is on a busy main road and on the opposite side of the road from the campsite turnoff. There are directions on the notice board and a list of local taxi numbers.
